I tried pressing Windows logo & X keys, selecting Device Manager, and expanding Storage Controllers. Card reader driver is not given equally an option . Therefore, it cannot be updated. Now what??

If there is no updated drivers available on the computer manufacturer'southward website, then download the latest drivers and try installing it in Windows 8 compatibility style. Compatibility mode runs the plan using settings from a previous version of Windows.
Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.
a. Download the commuter from the manufacturer's website.
b. Correct-click on the driver setup file and click on 'backdrop'.
c. Click on the 'compatibility' tab and check the box 'Run this program in compatibility mode for' and select Windows 8 operating system from the drib downwardly carte du jour and keep with the installation. Once this is washed, restart the calculator and check if the upshot persists.

I am having this same effect (I Retrieve....) I tin can not find the SD card to format it in the computer, or to endeavour and repair it. I have tried several different cards and none seem to be read. I did find the carte reader (again I think) in Memory Applied science Devices... tried to up date but it says it is updated already. only I still can not figure out how to access the sd card

Information technology will exist the actual menu reader driver ..get to hardware and audio / device manager /universal Serial Bus Controllers / at the bottom ...carte du jour reader/right click/uninstall/check box..delete commuter bundle too..Equally an insider pre win ten release i had the verbal aforementioned outcome. I use an Asus Rog originally win 7 ultimate so many driver bug needed resolving, the carte du jour reader i uninstalled ofttimes then reinstalled but repeatedly failed, my solution was to uninstall it completely, reboot, run ccleaner with checked box in windows advanced ( enviroment path ) then instead of going through the standard driver update through windows, or going back to Asus ( kept installing just failing , same as realtek sound ) i actually went directly to realtek site, installed, rebooted and opened device manager / scan for hardware changes...all working, used that method several times / nvidia drivers besides , gd luck :-)

exit the sd card out when removing the card reader driver! when the carte reader driver consequence is resolved it shall read the sd card :-)

I am sorry for not responding for a long time. I have been a very decorated person and needed to have my attending on a lot of other stuff, but that is all personal.
I have tried all the above solution and with no result. I have now bought a USB3.0 stick with micro and normal SDcard reader congenital in and this seems to work perfectly fine. But my "built in" nonetheless does not. I fifty-fifty tried ane belonging to a friend of mine that fits in the aforementioned 3-something inch slot as mine, but again to no luck. same issue persists, only works afterwards a reboot, where as the usb version works as intended.
I am completely out of ideas and puzzled past information technology. Just By now I volition wave the white flag... I give upwards. I have a working method now and non gonna put more free energy in it, more often than not considering of the lack of time I will have from now on due to work and other personal stuff.
I would really like to give thanks everyone for the time and patience they have been putting in this thread to help me try to resolve information technology, but unfortunately it is just non meant to be I guess...

How-do-you-do, I have the same issue, unable to come across the SD driver and not yet gear up to give up (just pretty close). I have followed all the propose in a higher place and all the same am unable to run into it.
Are at that place any other potential solutions?

- Click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
- Go to Organisation.
- Click on CurrentControlSet.
- Go to Command.
- Select Course.
- Expect for {4d36e980-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}.
- Check if at that place is an UpperFilter or LowerFilter on the content.
- Right click on the filter, and then printing Delete.
